An Advisory for Our Patients
Perhaps you've heard terms such as "Thin-Jection" and "Lipo-Dissolve." Both are popular names for a procedure known as mesotherapy, which is touted as a non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Mesotherapy involves injecting medications and other substances into the mesoderm layer of the skin in order to remove fat cells.
However, many unanswered questions remain regarding the efficacy and safety of mesotherapy. For example, injection formulations vary widely, with ingredients ranging from anti-inflammatory agents to hormones, enzymes and even plant extracts. There is tremendous risk in being injected with unstandardized, unproven products.
Our patients' safety is always are first priority. Because mesotherapy is not scientifically proven, The Centre, P.C. has chosen to not employ this practice. Instead, we believe that liposuction, at this time, is the treatment of choice as a safe, scientifically proven, surgical procedure.
Be aware that popular media often gets ahead of science. More research is necessary on mesotherapy. We will do our best to keep you informed as more details become known regarding this procedure.
